Some aortic aneurysms develop slowly and remain small while some develop very slowly. Some others develop very fast and in such cases rupture occurs suddenly often without any symptoms at all.

Often, abdominal aortic aneurysms are detected accidentally when CT scan is done for some other ailment.

Common symptoms of abdominal aortic aneurysms include:

– Pulsating feeling in abdomen, close to navel
– Back pain
– Abdominal pain or tenderness
– Pain in the chest
– Pain in the feet
– Sores or discoloration of toes
– Vomiting and nausea
– Rapid heart rate
– Unbearable pain in groin and scrotum

Further, abdominal region becomes stiff and you experience pulsating sensation.
