Banks Financing of Earnest Money for the GMADA Eco City Phase-1 Residential Plots Scheme

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) had launched a 740 residential plots scheme in Eco City Phase-1 in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur) in Punjab.
Registration or subscription for the GMADA Eco City Phase-1 residential plots scheme was open for the eligible applicants from September 21, 2011 to October 21, 2011.

Several public and private sector banks were financing the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) for the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority’s residential plots scheme in Eco City Phase-1 in New Chandigarh to the Indian citizens who wanted to apply for the GMADA plots.
Currently, the banks were charging 11 to 15 percent per annum as the tentative rate of interest for the Eco City Earnest Money Deposit Scheme. In the Earnest Money Deposit Scheme, the banks offer total or 100% finance of the earnest money required to be deposited with the application form.
For the Earnest Money Deposit Scheme, the banks were entertaining only those applicants, who fulfilled all the terms and conditions that Greater Mohali Area Development Authority had framed for the Eco City Phase-1 plots scheme.
