Government of India – Minimum Support Price of Chana or Gram

The Government of India has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) of chana or gram from Rs. 2,100 per quintal to Rs. 2,800 per quintal for marketing season 2012-2013. This is an increase of Rs. 700 a quintal or 33.33 percent over last year’s MSP for chana.

Indian Government Ups Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Chana or Gram to Rs. 2,800 Per 100 Kgs

The Government of India has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of chana (gram) from Rs. 2,100 per quintal (100 Kilograms) to Rs. 2,800 per quintal for the crop year 2011-2012 and marketing season 2012-2013.

This is an increase of Rs. 700 a quintal or 33.33 percent over last year’s Minimum Support Price for chana.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) took this decision to hike the MSP of chana in its meeting held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in New Delhi.

Every year, the Government of India determines the Minimum Support Price of chana (gram) based on the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Cost and Prices (CACP).
