The Government of India has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) of masur or lentil from Rs. 2,250 to Rs. 2,800 per quintal for marketing season 2012-2013. This is an increase of Rs. 550 a quintal or 24.44 percent over last year’s MSP for masur.

The Government of India has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of masur or lentil from Rs. 2,250 per quintal (100 Kilograms) to Rs. 2,800 per quintal for the crop year 2011-2012 and marketing season 2012-2013.
This is an increase of Rs. 550 a quintal or 24.44 percent over last year’s Minimum Support Price for lentil (masur).
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) took this decision to hike the MSP of masur (lentil) in its meeting held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in New Delhi.
Every year, the Government of India determines the Minimum Support Price of masur based on the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Cost and Prices (CACP).
